Tricia

Tricia Grace is a dance artist from Vandergrift, PA who focused her studies in performance and choreography. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Slippery Rock University. While she considers herself a contemporary dance artist influenced by the practices of modern dance, her technique has been greatly influenced by her training in African dance. Tricia spent time abroad at the University of Cartagena in Colombia, where she extensively expanded her studies on Afro-Colombian dance technique.

Currently, she not only uses her skills and knowledge as a teaching artist with Attack Theatre, Art-in-Motion, and Just Dance by Justine, but also as a performer. Tricia performs with the Pittsburgh Samba Group, and contemporary dance company, COURdance Pittsburgh. She has performed professional works at the August Wilson Center, Carnegie Museum of Art and History, Union Project Pittsburgh, the National Aviary, Succop Theater and Chicago Emergence Dance Theater. Prior to Tricia's career as a professional dancer, she interned with Now Next Dance in Washington, DC and DanceWarehouse in Brooklyn, NY.

Tricia briefly studied the history and art of Hula at the University of Hawai'i, Moana. She also took on teaching roles as an undergraduate at SRU as she cultivated Slippery Rock High School's first academic dance course as an alternative choice for physical education. Dance is not the only passion for Tricia, as she is a highly motivated athlete. She trains as a bikini competitor for the NPC bodybuilding circuit. She has competed multiple times at the Carnegie Music Hall where she received 1st place, making her a nationally qualified athlete. Tricia Grace is a passionate and driven dancer who takes pride and joy in the ability to teach, share, inspire, and cultivate creativity.
